Description
N-Acetyl L Cysteine is an antioxidant and mucolytic agent. It increases cellular pools of free radical scavengers, and it is reported to prevent apoptosis in neuronal cells but induce apoptosis in smooth muscle cells. N-Acetyl L Cysteine also Inhibits HIV replication. It may serve as a substrate for microsomal glutathione transferase.
