Description

Beta-Galactosidase (GLB1) is a glycoside hydrolase found in both animals and plants, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of the beta-glycosidic bond between galactose and a variety of organic moieties. Our β-Galactosidase Assay Kit can be used to check the transfection efficiency by measuring the β-Gal activity in the cells. LacZ is one of the most frequently monitored reporter gene used in the transfection experiments because of its product specific properties. β-Galactosidase has resistant to proteolytic degradation and is ideal for quantitatively measuring the high expression level of β–gal. The activity of β-galactosidase (GLB1) is measured by the hydrolysis of chlorophenol red‐β‐D‐galactopyranoside (CPRG) substrate by β-Galactosidase, which produces dark red color and can be read using a spectrophotometer or a microplate reader at 570–595 nm. The items supplied with our β‐Galactosidase Assay Kit are sufficient for 500 assays in a microwell format.
