PVDF Membrane Precut

General Description

PVDF is a hydrophobic membrane used for a wide variety of blot, sequencing, and protein analysis protocols. Due to the hydrophobic character of the membrane, there is a much higher rate of protein retention. It is supplied pre-cut in 8.5cm x 7.5cm and 10cm x 10cm sizes with blotting paper to make it ready to use.

The supplied PVDF Membrane pore size is 0.2 µm, has excellent binding properties and demonstrate a high level of compatibility with different detection methods, such as chemiluminescent and colorimetric western blotting, dot-blot assays, and other protein or nucleic acid methods such as protein sequencing. These membranes retain target protein very strongly during the protein transfer but also reduce the nonspecific protein binding that can obscure high-sensitivity detection. The 0.2-µm pore size makes these membranes ideal for protein analysis of small amounts of proteins (as little as 10 pM), amino acid analysis, and transfer of small molecular weight proteins and peptides.
